Dr Brooke Ashley is helping the police on a case that will haunt the maverick doctor for years: The Lisa Morse Case. Newly widowed and living alone, Ashley is in a dark place in her own life when she is asked to assist the police with the interrogation of Lisa Morse, from whom she needs to get a confession. Accused of murdering her teenage son, Lisa is reluctant to give a motive for such an act, and to reveal where the body is hidden. Even with the promise of a reduced sentence, Lisa is adamant about not revealing more. Will Brooke Ashley find a way make Lisa confess? Will she discover the reasons leading a mother to commit the ultimate sin? And what will the personal cost be?

Celebrating and rewarding Indie film makers, writers and talent from around the world, hosted in Leeds UK, every year.Now in its fourth year, in 2026 this new category supported by The Book Stars will celebrate THE BEST BOOK FOR ADAPTATION. Over the next 12 months, there will be 5 projects and from each 1 book will be shortlisted for the final event and a 2nd placed runner up will be recognised by the panel. The selected 5 winners will then be presented at the festival to find our AWARD WINNER. The Judges may select additional books as honourable mentions at their discretion.Each phase has a deadline for submissions, you can enter as many books as you like in as many phases as you wish, each will be judged independently.THE FEE OF £22 IS PER BOOK PER PHASE.
